Dhaka, March 20, 2024 (BD Runner): It has been decided to pay bonuses and salaries for March to the workers before the official holiday on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.
This decision was taken in a meeting of the Tripartite Consultative Council (RMG TCC) regarding the RMG sector in the meeting room of the Ministry of Labor and Employment today under the chairmanship of the Minister of State for Labor and Employment Md. Nazrul Islam Chowdhury.
On this occasion dues, March salary and bonus will be given along with declaration of factory holiday in conjunction with public holidays. This is stated in a statement today.
Secretary of Labor and Employment Ministry Md. Mahbub Hossain, Director General of Labor Department Md. Tariqul Alam, Chairman of BGMEA, Standing Committee on ILO and Labor Affairs Mr Saifuddin, Vice President of BKMEA Fazle Shamim Ehsan, Executive President of Jatiya Sramik League Md. Alauddin Mia participated in the meeting. etc.
Later, in response to various questions from journalists, the state minister said that the factories would not be able to retrench or lay off any workers before Eid. Strict instructions have been given in this regard.
Nazrul Islam Chowdhury said that there will be no labour dissatisfaction in the garment sector ahead of Eid, and rationing will be arranged for the garment workers. We don’t want any chaos or vandalism. Many problems of the workers have already been solved.
