PABNA, April 15: – It has been alleged that two pregnant mothers died within an hour of cesarean section in Pabna. The incident took place in a private hospital called Ideal Hospital around 3 pm on Sunday during a caesarean operation by a different doctor. Relatives of the patient alleged that expired medicines were used during the operation. After receiving the news, the district health department inspected the site and sealed the hospital. A three-member investigation committee has been formed to investigate the matter.
The two mothers who died during the caesarean operation are Sapna Khatun of Khidirpur in Atgharia upazila of Pabna and Insana Khatun, wife of Mahbub Biswas of Shilaidah village in Kushtia. The family members of the victims admitted them to this hospital when they experienced labour pains the day before the incident.
It is known that Dr. Zahida Jahura performed a cesarean operation on maternity patient Leeza Insana Khatun. The relatives of the deceased Leesa alleged that her death was due to her wrong treatment. On the other hand, Dr Kazi Nahida Akhter Lipi performed the caesarean operation on Swapna Khatun in the same hospital. The family also told the media about the patient’s death due to the doctor’s wrong operation.
Allegedly, the saline and injections given to caesarean patients during treatment were expired. Also, two mothers died due to some wrong treatment including female cutting during caesarean operation.
Abdullah Arif, partner of Pabna Ideal Hospital said, We always provide good treatment and good medicine to the patient. Allegations are not true. The health department came. They investigated. An investigation committee has been formed. Their investigation will reveal the facts.
Pabna Civil Surgeon Doctor Shahidullah Dewan said that the hospital was visited after learning about the incident. Initially, the hospital was sealed. A three-member investigation committee has been formed to investigate the incident. Further action will be taken after receiving the inquiry committee’s report

Pabna Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime) Masud Alam said they heard the incident. Sad. I have not received any complaint from the family of the deceased. If a complaint is received, the incident will be investigated and necessary action will be taken.
