BDRunner Online : Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Saber Hossain Chowdhury said Bangladesh needs 534 billion dollars to combat climate change by 2050. International financial support is essential for the implementation of the climate plan.
Noting Bangladesh’s commitment to working with international partners to build climate resilience, he said the government is committed to advancing climate adaptation efforts and ensuring a sustainable future for all citizens.
Saber Hossain Chowdhury said these things in a speech given in a session of the National Adaptation Plan Expo 2024, emphasizing on the progress of the National Climate Plan of Bangladesh today.
The Minister emphasized the importance of proactive action, collaborative efforts and innovative solutions to address climate change challenges.
Highlighting Bangladesh’s significant progress in developing and implementing the National Climate Plan, he pointed out the country’s leadership in global climate adaptation.

Climate expert. M. Asaduzzaman spoke on the challenges, opportunities and lessons learned from NAP formulation and implementation in Bangladesh.
Ministry Deputy Secretary Dharitri Kumar Sarkar and Environment Directorate Director Mirza Shawkat Ali presented the National Adaptation Plan of Bangladesh 2023-2050.
