Dhaka, March 24, (BDR): Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said, “Today, a very clever new plot has started to destabilize Bangladesh again and plunge it into danger again.”
He said, “All the institutions that are very important in protecting the independence and sovereignty of Bangladesh are being made controversial.”
The BNP Secretary General said this at a prayer and iftar mahfil organized by the BNP Media Cell at the Ladies Club in the capital on Monday evening. BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman was virtually involved as the chief guest in the iftar mahfil.
He said, “Especially the army is being made controversial. There cannot be any great motive behind this, its motive is the same as the way Bangladesh’s independence and sovereignty were endangered during the fascist government in the past. The attempt is being made to endanger the independence and sovereignty of Bangladesh again, to make us vulnerable again.
He said, “A despicable attempt has started to discredit our patriotic army, who have stood by the nation at every important moment of the country.”
The BNP Secretary General said, “As the conscience of the nation, journalists have always played an important role in the country’s critical moments by being on the front lines. They have tried to enrich the people by providing them with accurate information. Today, our expectation is that you will play that important role again. Especially, our expectation is from the media cell. False propaganda against BNP is still going on; you will work against it. Only then will the entire nation stand up. Everyone will work unitedly.”
