PABNA. May 08: – In Pabna Sadar Upazila, it has been alleged that an elder brother died after being hit with a hammer by his younger brother for forbidding him from beating his wife.
The deceased, Abdul Wahab Mondal (50), is the son of the deceased Abdul Jabbar Mondal of Shukchar village. The name of the younger brother who killed him is Arab Mondal (45). He died on the way to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital around 9:30 am on Wednesday. The police later arrested the younger brother who killed him.
According to police and local sources, at around 3 am last night, on 6 May, the younger brother Arab Ali fought with his wife and started beating her severely. At that time, the elder brother, Abdul Wahab, forbade him from beating her and told her not to beat him, so that he could come and take her. If the girl dies, there will be danger. Then he started beating his elder brother, too.
At that time, when the elder brother tried to run away, he went into the field and hit him on the head with a hammer, seriously injuring him. Locals rescued him and took him to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital, where he died.
Pabna Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdus Salam confirmed the incident and said that the body has been recovered and sent to the morgue for autopsy. The accused Arab Mandal, has been arrested in this incident. In addition, Arab Mandal’s wife has been brought to the police station for questioning. A case was lodged at Pabna Sadar Thana in this connection.
