President Ramchandra Paudel has appealed to the people and political parties to remain calm and help maintain peace and constitutional order as the country grapples with the ongoing unrest. In a statement issued on Thursday, Paudel said he was continuing “discussions and all possible efforts” to find a speedy and constitutional solution to the protesters’ demands. “I assure everyone that efforts are underway to resolve the issues as soon as possible. I call on all parties to exercise restraint and cooperate in maintaining peace and order,” the president said.
After days of nationwide protests led by the Gen Z youth wing, a curfew has been imposed and security has been beefed up in several districts due to the escalation of violence.
