PABNA, Dec 03:- Seven students and one teacher of Pabna University of Science and Technology participated in the International Exchange Program at the ‘Sakura Science Program of Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST)’ at Yamanashi University, Japan, from October 26 to November 1.
The seven-day knowledge exchange program was led by Professor Dr. Sheikh Russell Al Ahmed, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology. The eight-member team gained academic and practical work experience in labs at the Japanese university. Certificates of appreciation were distributed among the participating students and teachers on Tuesday evening for successfully completing the 7-day academic tour. The organizing organization recently sent the certificates of seven students and one teacher to the Pabna University of Science and Technology authorities. This evening, Honorable Vice-Chancellor Professor S. M. Abdul Awal, Deputy Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Nazrul Islam and Treasurer Professor Dr. Md. Shamim Ahsan presented the certificates of merit to the students and teachers.
On this occasion, at a function held at the Honorable Vice-Chancellor’s office this evening, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. SM Abdul-Awal said, for the first time, a research team including teachers and students from Pabna University of Technology is going on an academic tour to a renowned university in Japan. The students’ experience will be useful in their future careers. They have been enriched academically. Through our students’ tour, the two institutions have an opportunity to work together. As the students successfully participate in academic activities, the research activities will move forward. As part of this, a Memorandum of Understanding will be signed between Pabna University of Science and Technology and the said university on December 15. If the Memorandum of Understanding is signed, our research activities with this world-famous university in Japan will increase. Every year, two to three students will be able to study in addition to research activities. Through this, Pabna University of Science and Technology will gain global recognition. Our students will be able to maintain their international reputation.
At that time, Deputy Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Nazrul Islam, Treasurer Professor Dr. Md. Shamim Ahsan, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology Professor Dr. Sheikh Russell Al Ahmed, and Proctor Dr. Kamruzzaman Khan were present. The dean who participated in the program said that our team has been made members of the Sakura Science Club for successfully completing this tour. At this time, the students described their experience of the Japan tour. They highlighted their future plans.
