Burimari Express derailed, running after five hours

BDRunner , May 09:- Train movement has resumed after the derailment of the derailed coach of the Burimari Express train bound for Dhaka at Muladuli station point of the Ishwardi-Dhaka railway route. The accident took place on the Muladuli-Chatmohar meter gauge line of Ishwardi in Pabna at Wednesday night at about 3:04 am. Later, at 8:10 am, after the carriage was removed, the train started running on this line.

Meanwhile, train service with Dhaka-Joidebpur on the meter gauge line of Western Railway was temporarily stopped after the accident. Eight trains were kept at various stations on the meter gauge line till 8 am. Other train schedules are disrupted.

An inquiry committee has been formed by the Pakshi Division Railways regarding the derailment of the train. Pakshi Divisional Railway Transport Officer Anwar Hossain has been made the head of the committee. The remaining two members of the committee are Divisional Railway Engineer-2 Birbal Mandal and Divisional Mechanical Engineer Md. Mumtazul Islam.

Divisional Railway Engineer-2 Birbal Mandal said that two wheels of a Sobhan chair coach of Dhaka-bound Burimari Express derailed. Some railway sleepers have been damaged. After the carriage was recovered, the train started running on the meter gauge line at 8:10 am. Eight trains were parked at different stations. Arrangements are being made to run them. A sleeper of 2500 points was damaged at Mulduli-Chatmohar. Sleeper renovation is in progress.
