Sheikh Hasina sentenced to 6 months in prison in contempt of court case

June 02: The International Crimes Tribunal has announced the punishment of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina of Bangladesh.

She has been sentenced to six months in prison in contempt of court case, however, not with hard labor, but with easy labor. The three-member bench of the International Crimes Tribunal of Bangladesh gave this order on Wednesday. It was headed by Justice Mohammad Golam Mortuza Majumder.

In addition to Justice Mortuza, the International Crimes Tribunal also included Justice Mohammad Shafiul Alam Mahmud and Judge Mohammad Mohitul Haque Enam Chowdhury. In the contempt of court case in which Hasina was found guilty, the other accused was Shakil Akand Bulbul alias Mohammad Shakil Alam of Gobindaganj. He was also found guilty. He has been ordered to serve two months of easy labor.
