Tariffs are causing a rift in India-US relations, Donald Trump finally realizes

BDRunner, Sept 13:-

First, the lack of a trade agreement, followed by the imposition of tariffs, has complicated the relationship between India and America. Not only that, but US President Donald Trump has been constantly threatening India. In this situation, the US President suddenly changed his tune. He said, “The tariffs on India have caused a rift in the relationship between the two countries.”

In a recent interview, Trump said, “India is Russia’s largest customer. A 50 percent tariff has been imposed on India because of its oil purchases from Moscow. The decision was not easy. The tariff has caused a rift in the Indo-US relationship.” After that, Trump raised the issue of the Ukraine war. He said, “I have had a perfect relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin for many years. However, this time, my patience is wearing thin. He has failed to stop the war. We will take strong action.” Incidentally, the US President made a statement on Tuesday to resolve the complications of India-US relations. On his social media handle, he wrote, “I am thrilled to announce that talks are underway between the two great countries of India and the United States to resolve the long trade dispute. I am eager to speak with my dear friend Prime Minister Modi. I believe that these talks between the two great countries will soon overcome all obstacles and reach a final solution.” It is worth noting that the trade agreement between the two countries was not concluded due to Trump’s unfair demands. On top of that, America has been giving India a hard time for buying Russian oil. A 50 percent tariff has been imposed. The White House has stated that there will be no talks with India on tariffs unless progress is made on the trade deal. Then the US President has been softening his tone moment by moment. Will this situation ease the complications in the relations between the two countries? Time will tell.
