PABNA, Oct 01: A young man was killed and another was injured in an extramarital affair at Sadhupara under Pabna Sadar upazila of the district on October 01.
The deceased was identified as Raihan Shaikh Akas, 26, and Naeem Hossain was injured in this connection. The incident occurred at the Char-Sadhupur bridge around 1 am.
Locals said that a young man named Millat was having an extramarital affair with a housewife from Sadhupara. The deceased Akash and his friend Naeem had evidence of that relationship.
On Tuesday night, Millat and his associate Suvel argued about extramarital affairs. At one point, Millat stabbed them with a knife in his hand and fled. When the locals rescued the injured and took them to Pabna General Hospital, the doctor on duty declared Akash dead.
The deceased, Raihan Sheikh Akash, was a second-year student of the Computer Department of Pabna Polytechnic Institute. He is the son of Sohel Sheikh of the Dakshin Char-Sadhpara area.
Pabna Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdus Salam said that initially, it was learned that the murder was committed due to extramarital affairs. One person has been arrested. The body has been recovered and sent to the Pabna General Hospital morgue for autopsy.
